Seventy new guards prepared for their duties
The Human Resources Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior and Security organised a training programme for seventy newly recruited sub-prefecture guards from 2 to 30 June 2025.
The closing ceremony and presentation of epaulettes took place on 30 June 2025 at the Abidjan Police Academy. The ceremony was chaired by Cabinet Director Benjamin Effoli, representing the Minister of the Interior and Security.
The programme was designed to prepare the new officers for their duties before their deployment to different administrative districts.
Professional and practical training
The training covered the rules governing the profession of sub-prefecture guard, as well as the rights and duties applicable to civil servants.
The participants received instruction in areas including:
common basic training;
corps discipline;
professional saluting and protocol;
identification of ranks and insignia;
proper wearing of uniforms and official accessories;
protection and surveillance of officials;
protection of administrative buildings;
reception and guidance of public-service users.
The programme helped the new guards better understand their professional environment, their position within the administrative system and the standards of conduct expected in public service.
A key stage before deployment
Following the programme, the seventy guards were expected to take up their respective assignments.
This initiative illustrates the role of the Human Resources Directorate in the reception, integration, training and operational preparation of staff serving within the Territorial Administration.
It also contributes to improving public reception, administrative security and the day-to-day functioning of sub-prefectures.
